The Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation of Georgia granted apartments to 48 internally displaced families from Abkhazia in Batumi, Adjara autonomy on December 20.
The building was constructed as commercial property in 2011. The Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation rehabilitated the building as apartments with private bathrooms, kitchens and heating systems.
The several IDPs, who have appealed to the Ministry of Refugees and Accommodation for apartments, also came to the apartments launch. They demanded to get their own flats in the nearest future.
According to the Minister of Refugees and Accommodation, Davit Darakhvelidze, the ministry has already supplied accommodations for over 1200 IDP families during the last year.
"Today we granted these apartments to the poorest and homeless internally displaced families. said Davit Darakhvelidze.
