EURACTIV has published an article written by Vlagyiszlav Makszimov about the success story of Georgia in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The article discusses exactly what measures brought Georgia this success, citing Georgian expert on public health and social services Zurab Tatanashvili who thinks that “putting professionals in the driver’s seat was perhaps the smartest thing this government has ever done”.  

In the article EURACTIV step by step remembered all steps taken by the government of Georgia to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country: cancelling flights to China, closing schools, universities, shops, setting up mandatory quarantine zones at border crossings, placing citizens arriving home under quarantine, announcing a state of emergency, suspending all forms of intercity transport, including rail.
