Georgia reports 2,953 new cases of coronavirus, 1,085 recoveries, 31 deaths

Georgia has reported 2,953 new Covid-19 cases, 1,085 recoveries, and 31 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days has increased to 7.76%.

Overall 35,363 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 25,745 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 15,240 of the 25,745 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 10,505 were PCR tests. 

962,827 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 913,528 of 962,827 patients have recovered, while 14,218 have died from the virus.

The 2,953 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 1,925 cases 
  • Adjara - 336 cases 
  • Imereti - 218 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 80 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 65 cases 
  • Guria - 77 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 126 cases 
  • Kakheti - 63 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 26 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 34 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 3 cases

Overall, 816 Covid-19 Omicron variant cases have been confirmed in the country as of January 10.

A total of 4,409 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,094 of the 4,409 patients are in critical condition. 280 of the 1,094 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.

29,260 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

29,134 individuals are in self-isolation.

Overall, 1,297,738 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,168,461 people have been fully vaccinated.
