Dissolution, the latest addition to the range of contemporary art spaces in Georgia's capital Tbilisi, will host works by artists Aleksandr Biruk and Modi Gio in a "show about form and colour" starting next week.
The gallery, launched last month with an exhibition featuring three Georgian and foreign artists, is this time bringing works by Biruk, a Belarusian creative based in Tbilisi, and painter and graphic designer Modi Gio, to its space in the downtown.
Entitled Spring Pigment, the display will showcase the former's input in the artistic process that produces "visual music" through use of shape and colour for conveying a sensation of the "emotional state," a preview from the gallery said.
The summary of Biruk's works noted his use of "the interplay of form, colour and silhouettes," with the resulting pieces intended for "filling people with life," in the words of the artist, who has also spoken about the role of creators taking an essential look at their objects, without ascribing properties to them beyond their "real" designation.
In the show, exhibits by Modi Gio, an artist involved into painting from an early age, will also be on display for viewers, with the creative working as a graphic designer following his education in architecture.
The preview from organisers said the Tbilisi-based artist used "people, architecture relationships and landscapes" from surroundings as his inspiration - and recurring themes - for images produced in his creative process.
In comments on his work, the creative has noted the presence of an element of himself in his creations, noting "Everyone that creates something ultimately creates themselves."
Visitors for the show, which is organised by David Finestein and Gvantsa Tskhovrebashvili, will be welcomed to the gallery launched with the vision of becoming a space for "both Georgian and foreign artists to show innovative work".
The display will be open at the venue, located at 1, Kekelidze Street in Tbilisi, between May 27-June 24.
