A new integrated public transport system will be launched in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi starting April 1, which will enable passengers to travel by metro, buses and minibuses for an hour and a half with a one-time ticket, announces deputy Tbilisi Mayor Irakli Khmaladze in his interview with the local media outlet Interpressnews.

As of today a similar system applies to only Tbilisi Metro and buses operating in the city. The passengers are allowed to buy a one-time ticket for the metro or buses and travel for free during the next 90 minutes.

Now minibuses are also joining the system which means that the cost of the travel will be reduced from 80 to 50 tetri as it is for metro and buses.

Only the new, blue minibuses will be allowed to integrate with the system.

Khmaladze also talked about the transport policy for buses in Tbilisi and said that 24-meter buses will not operate in Tbilisi. The longest buses that will serve the passengers in the city will be 18-meter ones.

Khmaladze said that the complete new transport network will be available in Tbilisi by 2023.
