Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili who is on a working visit to France has met with her French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.

Salome Zurabishvili left for France on September 26. During her visit the Georgian president has posthumously awarded a number of distinguished Georgians, including Dimitri Amilakhvari.

Among them was Dimitri Amilakhvari, who would become a hero of the French Resistance

Dimitri Amilakhvari was a French military officer of Georgian origin and lieutenant colonel of the French Foreign Legion who played an important role in the French resistance against the Nazi occupation during the World War II.
