The coronavirus infection rate continues to slow in Georgia, with the country reporting just five new cases earlier today.
As of May 14, 257 people remain infected with COVID-19 in Georgia, while the figure was 264 yesterday.
Since February 2020 Georgia has had 652 cases of the coronavirus. 383 of the 652 people have recovered and 12 others have died.

Rustavi and Gardabani, which have been on coronavirus lockdown for a month, have reopened earlier today.
All kinds of manufacturing operations have also resumed in Georgia.
Retail and wholesale stores with their own shop entrances, excluding shopping malls and clothing and footwear stores, have opened.
Marneuli is scheduled to reopen on May 18.
The government imposed restrictions on entering and leaving Georgia’s four largest cities – of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Batumi and Rustavi – on April 15. Travel restrictions in Batumi and Rustavi were lifted from May 5.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has praised the efforts of the Georgian government against the coronavirus, saying that the country is coping with the virus successfully. Stoltenberg phoned Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani to relay this message and say that the NATO foreign ministerial on April 3-4 will be held in a restricted manner, Georgian Foreign Ministry said. “NATO stands by the Georgian government and its people in the fight against the coronavirus,” the foreign ministry cited Stoltenberg as saying.
Georgia has reported five new cases of coronavirus earlier today, bringing the total number of cases to 647. 372 of the 647 patients have recovered, while 11 others have died. As of April 13, 264 individuals remain infected with COVID-19. Almost 32,000 people have been tested for COVID-19 in the country since February 2020. Georgia has reported a 12th death due to COVID-19 earlier today. The 81-year-old woman suffered from several underlying illnesses.
World Health Organisation programme director Michael Ryan gave high marks to Georgia's ongoing response to the coronavirus outbreak and noted the country's "very strong and proud tradition" in public health as an element in its success in a media briefing on Wednesday.
