Georgia reports 6 new cases of coronavirus, 114 patients recovered, 5 dead

Georgia has reported six new cases of the coronavirus today, bringing the total number of cases to 431.
114 of the 431 people have recovered, while five others have died.
As of today 310 individuals remain infected with COVID-19 inside the country.
5,126 people are under quarantine and 578 others in hospitals.
The village of Gvankiti in the Terjola municipality of western Georgia was put on lockdown yesterday.
Imereti governor (state representative) Zviad Shalamberidze says that 12 individuals have tested positive for the virus in the village so far which has more than 2,400 residents.

The village will remain on lockdown until all threats are removed regarding the further spread of the virus,” he said.
Shalamberidze said that 723 people have been thermo-screened in the village, with several individuals exhibiting suspicious symptoms.
He said that all three markets in the village will open later today, as well as a pharmacy.
The Georgian parliament extended the state of emergency until May 22 on April 22 to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus in Georgia.
Four infected individuals have recuperated from the coronavirus in Georgia increasing the total number of recoveries to 111. As of now, there are a total of 420 confirmed cases in the country, including five deaths. 302 individuals remain infected with COVID-19.
About 20 doctors and several employees of the Interior Ministry have tested positive for coronavirus, said Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze earlier today. She said that soldiers have not tested positive for the new coronavirus.
Lithuania will allocate €100,000 for acquiring medical supplies made by Lithuanian companies as humanitarian assistance for Georgia, Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine to help the countries better combat coronavirus pandemic.
Transparency International Georgia has sent 1,080 units of virus protection equipment including hand sanitisers, medical masks, gloves, coats, suits, remote thermometers to several medical facilities in Gali in Georgia's Russian-occupied region of Abkhazia.
The EU-supported sewing workshop attached to a convent in Kakheti is producing 5,000 medical masks in response to the coronavirus, which will be gifted to people at risk and medical staff in Dedoplistskaro municipality, the EU in Georgia press office said.
The Georgian government has announced a two-day easing off of restrictions on vehicle traffic between major cities and the rest of the country to allow citizens to return to their homes following Easter celebrations.
