A Georgia-Japan business forum was held in Tokyo today, where Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Economy Minister Giorgi Kobulia introduced Japanese business society to Georgia’s investment climate and business opportunities.
Bakhtadze said that Georgia is remarkably attractive for international investments.
Our market is fully open, our economy is liberal and our location is strategic”, said Bakhtadze.
Bakhtadze focused on the excellent people-to-people and political relations, thereby noting that the time has come to let these extraordinary relations expand to economic interaction.
Bakhtadze also talked about Georgia’s potential to become a regional and global business hub.
We have a very ambitious goal to make Georgia a multi-dimensional regional hub ... Georgia is by all accounts a natural candidate to become a regional and global business hub. Located at the crossroads between Europe, Asia and the Middle East, we are a small but remarkably attractive economy for international investments”, said Bakhtadze.

At the forum Economy Minister Kobulia said that over the long period of cooperation Japan has demonstrated itself to be an increasingly leading partner of Georgia.
Georgia is becoming a stable player in the region, becoming closer to Europe and is considered a successful, peaceful and stable democracy. Therefore, our wish is for Japan to perceive us as a reliable business partner in the region and a country where a stable political and economic climate is provided”, said Kobulia.
On the other hand Bakhtadze introduced all major achievements made by Georgia and noted that the country ranks 6th in the world and 1st in Europe in terms of Doing Business according to the World Bank Index.
Japan-Georgia Business Forum is attended by over 150 companies, of which 30 are from Georgia.
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, who is visiting Japan, says that the signing of a bilateral investment deal between Georgia and Japan in the future will further encourage economic relations between the two countries.

The government of Japan has signed four agreements with Georgia today to finance three green policy and one demining projects, the total cost of which is $293,264.
The Japanese government and the corporation Mitsubishi have gifted 96 hybrid and electric cars to Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. In his speech delivered today at a special ceremony in Tbilisi, Kvirikashvili thanked the Japanese government, the Embassy of Japan to Georgia and the Mitsubishi corporation for the "very significant” gift.
