Georgian fencer wins bronze at FIE Sabre Grand Prix in Cairo

Georgian fencer Sandro Bazadze won bronze at the FIE Sabre Grand Prix in Cairo, Egypt, after defeating US fencer Eli Dershwitz 15:12 in the semifinal.
He lost 5:15 against twice-Olympic champion, Hungarian Áron Szilágyi in the half final and secured third place.
This is the first time a Georgian fencer has won a medal at the FIE Sabre Grand Prix which is organised by the International Fencing Federation.
The competition ran from 22-24 February in Cairo.
Georgian wheelchair fencer Irma Khetsuriani has won her fourteenth gold medal in Sharjah, UAE, where the first world cup of 2019 as part of the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) World Games is underway.
