The Georgian and Chinese governments signed a deal to make the study of the Chinese language more popular on 15 February.

The deal implies supporting the Chinese language teaching process at secondary schools across Georgia.

The ministry reports that the document is based on the education agreement between Georgia and China on deepening academic relationships and cooperation between the countries.

The deal will encourage cooperation with China and enable Georgia’s secondary schools to offer the Chinese language lessons to students in accordance with the national curriculum standard.

Georgian Education and Science Minister Giorgi Batiashvili stated that China is one of Georgia’s friends and partners and cooperation with it is of utmost significance.

Young people being enabled to study Chinese will help Georgia develop a successful relationship with one of its main economic partners and carry out Georgian-Chinese business projects.
