US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Georgian PM meet in Tbilisi

The United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent and the Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia discussed the US-Georgia strategic partnership. 

During the meeting in Tbilisi earlier today, Gakharia and Kent discussed the wide range of issues of their countries’ bilateral cooperation, the Government of Georgia’s press office reported.

Giorgi Gakharia and Georgia Kent also spoke of the grave humanitarian and security situation in Georgia’s Russian occupied regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia). 

They also discussed the recent developments along the occupation line, stressing importance of international support for ensuring peace on the ground.
