The meetings make us believe that the support for Georgia from the US legislator body will increase,” Chugoshvili said.
She stated that the Georgian delegation has briefed the members of Congress about the Georgian territorial problems and other issues which are important for the country.
Meetings were held with Michael Guest, Russ Fulcher and Sylvia Garcia, all newly elected members of the US congress.

The US House of Representatives passed an historic supportive act in December 2018, which not only condemns the occupation of Georgian territories but also recommends sanctions against those who violate human rights in the two Russian-occupied regions of Georgia – Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).
The US Congress has previously confirmed many resolutions in support of Georgia. However, this recent legislation is more important than a resolution, the Georgian Foreign Ministry says.
When the bill is also confirmed by the Senate and signed by the US president, it will pass into law and go into effect.
