Georgian police confiscate 32 packages of heroin from Turkish citizen in Batumi

The detainee face 8-20 years in prison or life imprisonment.

Georgian police have seized heroin in especially large quantities from a Turkish citizen in Georgia’s western coastal city of Batumi.

The individual, who was identified as M.I., 46, has been charged with the possession of drugs.

32 packages of heroin have been seized from his rented apartment in Batumi. 

The video has been released by the Georgian Interior Ministry.

The detainee faces eight to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment. 

The Georgian Interior Ministry stated last week that starting from January 1, 2019 they have seized: 

  • 26 kg of heroin.
  • 2 kg of cocaine. 
  • 13,500 pills of subutex and suboxone.
  • 23 kg of MDMA.
  • 9.7 kg of psychoactive substances. 
  • 1.5 kg of psychotropic drugs.
