Georgian-language section opens in NYC library

A Georgian-language section opened in Queens Library of New York City on 22 January.

Hundreds of Georgian publications, films and audio records are already ready for borrowing in the library.

The project was implemented by the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.

We started working on the project three years ago. Symbolically, the opening ceremony was held on 22 January. I visited the US with my work team – Maia Simonishvili and Levan Taktakishvili. We’re getting ready for some other projects as well, which would be quite important news for our country”, stated director of National Parliamentary Library, Giorgi Kekelidze, yesterday.

The director of the library thanked Voice of America, the Consulate General of Georgia in New York and Publishing House Palitra L for their support.

The Queens Library (QL) is one of three public library systems serving New York City. It is one of the largest library systems in the world by circulation, which approximately 13.5 million items to loan.
