Six individuals have been detained for drug trafficking by the Georgian Interior Ministry over the past several days, the ministry reports.
Police seized up to four kilograms of heroin and 20 kg marijuana from two of them.
The ministry says that four drug dealers have been detained in the village of Ponichala and the Marneuli region in eastern Georgia, “who were systematically selling drugs.”
The detainees face eight to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment,” the ministry stated.
The fifth individual was also detained in Ponichala, with a previous criminal record of robbery.

The sixth detainee is a citizen of South Africa, who was trying to smuggle in 20 kg marijuana.
The crime is punishable by 15-20 years in prison or life imprisonment,” the ministry states.
