Tbilisi City Court has found eight people arrested during the 12 May 2018 nightclub raids guilty of the sale and distribution of drugs in large quantities at different night clubs in Tbilisi.
The investigation established that the detainees illegally sold different drugs at Bassiani, Khidi, Café Gallery and Mtkvari night clubs.
One of the detainees was sentenced to nine years and half, another was sentenced to seven years and the rest of the detainees were sentenced to eight years in jail.
Having delivered the verdicts, the case of the Tbilisi nightclub drug dealers has come to a close.
Police raided Bassiani and Cafe Gallery clubs on 12 May 2018 in the aftermath of the deaths of five from drug poisoning in previous weeks.
Two night clubs were raided on 12 May 2018. The law enforcers’ activity was followed by large protest rallies.
