Interior Ministry destroys large quantity of seized drugs [VIDEO]

The Interior Ministry has destroyed narcotic substances worth approximately 55 million GEL ($20 mln/€ 18 mln).

The drugs were seized during 737 investigating operations conducted around the country at different times, the Ministry reported.

The drugs which were burnt in a high-temperature furnace included: 

• 178kg and 667gr of Heroine;
• 2088 pills of Subutex;
• 590 pills of Codein;
• 38.471gr of Metadone:
• 525 pills and 18.21gr of MDMA;
• 170 tablets of Tramadole, and
• other psychotropic and new psychoactive substances.

Law enforcers destroy seized drugs and psychoactive substances once in three months, according to the law. 

Today’s procedure was attended by the representatives of different ministries and agencies together with the Interior Ministry staff.
