The Independence Day of Georgia is being celebrated across the world with the involvement of the Georgian Foreign Ministry and diplomatic missions abroad.
The national anthem of Georgia will be performed by representatives of Georgian diplomatic missions and Diaspora in the capital cities at 17:10 Tbilisi time as the independence of Georgia was publicly announced at this time.
Different sights throughout the world will be illuminated in white and red, the colours of the national Georgian flag.
In particular the Ankara TV Tower, various buildings in Ireland and Slovenia, a bridge in Vilnius, Lithuania and the Embassy of Georgia in Estonia.
The flag of Georgia will be raised on the building of Ottawa city hall, Canada and the symbol of Brussels Manneken-Pis will adorn traditional Georgian national clothes, the chokha.

Cultural events will also be held in Spain, Switzerland, Poland, France, Germany and other countries.
The Independence Day has already been celebrated in US, Ukraine and Denmark.

The flag of Georgia was raised at the building of Philadelphia City Hall and national anthems of Georgia and US were performed.
The Georgian Embassy of Germany and diaspora marked the day with a concert in Stuttgart, Germany.
