Multi-profile ‘Mega Lab’ laboratory opens in Georgia

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze opened a multi-profile laboratory today – Mega Lab, which will offer high-tech analyses and tests. 

This is the largest multi-profile laboratory in the South Caucasus which will carry out approximately six million tests annually.

The Georgia Healthcare Group invested 20,000,000 GEL(about $7,421,150.20/€6,584,415.51) in the Mega Lab laboratory project. 

Mamuka Bakhtadze said that Georgians will no longer have to depart abroad for certain medical examinations adding the laboratory will also enable future specialists to practice there.

Prime Minister Bakhtadze assessed the project as being of the utmost significance for Georgia and its economy.

Tens of million dollars have been exported from the country as we had no proper infrastructure. The project is a part of the aim that Georgia become the economic centre in the region,” he stated.

Bakhtadze said such infrastructure will help the country reach this goal.
