NATO has introduced a new head of mission at the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia.

The new head is Rosaria Puglisi, who replaced William Lahue in the role.

Puglisi had been deputy head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia since April of 2017. Before that, she headed the NATO Liaison Office in Central Asia.

At different times, she also worked in Libya, Ukraine, Kosovo and Moldova.

In 2008-2012, she served as a political advisor to the European Union Monitoring Mission to Georgia.

NATO Liaison Office (NLO) Georgia represents NATO in the country. It facilitates political and military dialogue and practical cooperation under the NATO-Georgia Commission in support of Georgia’s efforts to join NATO.

It also serves to enhance civil and military cooperation between NATO and the Government of Georgia in support of the Euro-Atlantic integration goals described in the Annual National Plan (ANP).
