Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is set to meet NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels this month.

The November 17 meeting was announced after Garibashvili met head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia William Lahue in Tbilisi earlier today.

It will be the first meeting between Garibashvili and the new NATO leader.

Today Lahue and Garibashvili discussed NATO-Georgia partnership issues. Special attention was paid to the importance of the Substantial Package Georgia received from the Alliance following the Wales Summit in September.

The sides expressed their hope that Georgia’s security and defence possibilities would increase once the support package was implemented.

The Ukraine crisis was also discussed at the meeting.

Lahue once again thanked Garibashvili for Georgia’s participation in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
