Despite the winter cold, people gathered in Old Tbilisi and in the suburban areas of Gldani and Varketili to take part in the special festive events dedicated to the New Year celebration, where emotions were high.

Yesterday, cycling Santa Clauses rode around town creating a festive cheer about the city. They greeted citizens, wished them well in the new upcoming year and handed out candies.

Meanwhile, people were invited to Dedaena Park, also known as New Year’s town, where the city’s central Christmas Town will be hosting concerts, theatre shows and children’s activities over the next two weeks.

There, an open air cinema was arranged for people who wanted to watch New Year movies.

In another part of Tbilisi, in the New Tiflis area, a Christmas market was arranged and guests were invited to come and find some of the best New Year’s themed decorations and items.
