February 2018: Georgia hosts 440,806 international travellers

A total of 440,806 international travellers visited Georgia in February 2018 of which 177,845 were tourists, says the Georgian National Tourism Administration.

Month-on-month, the number of international travellers (tourists, transit, other) increased by 19.8 percent, while the number of tourists (individuals that spend more than 24 hours in the country) increased by 27.1 percent.

The countries from where the largest number of visitors came to Georgia in January 2018 were:

  • Azerbaijan – 2.2 percent decrease
  • Armenia – 27.1 percent increase
  • Turkey – 28.1 percent increase
  • Russia – 24.2 percent increase
  • Iran – 130.6 percent increase

From European Union countries:

  • United Kingdom – 49 percent increase
  • Lithuania – 36 percent increase
  • France – 31 percent increase
  • Germany – 21 percent increase

The countries with the most significant increase were:

  • Kuwait – 134 percent increase
  • Iran – 131 percent
  • China – 83 percent increase
  • Israel – 73 percent increase
  • India – 37 percent increase

In the first two months of 2018, Georgia hosted 885,047 international visitors (17.2 percent increase) and 367,321 tourists (24.9 percent increase).
