Georgian government developing vocational education system

The Government of Switzerland has allocated $6 million dollars to Georgia, which will be invested in vocational education and training in agriculture and introduce and an extension system for farmers.

The four year programs will be implemented by the UNDP and supported by the ministries of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.  

The document was signed yesterday.

To create a system of vocational education in Georgia is one of our main priorities. We believe this change will affect millions of people”, stated Deputy Education Science, Culture and Sport Minister Irina Abuladze.

The project will upgrade educational standards of the VET colleges, plan and implement the modular programmes in agriculture. Moreover, it will provide farmers with the high quality training and improve access to resources, infrastructure  for the regional and local agriculture.

Vocational education is one of the top priority directions under the education reform. Vocational education will focus on international market standards. On the other hand, it will suit the needs of individual regions," Abuladze added.
