Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova launch joint parliamentary assembly

Speakers of the Georgian, Ukrainian and Moldovan parliaments have signed a trilateral agreement on launching a joint parliamentary assembly today.
According to the agreement the three countries approve their steadfast and consistent support to the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova.
Speaking at the inter-parliamentary conference in Kiev, Ukraine Speaker of the Georgian parliament Irakli Kobakhidze said that the three countries are connected through common challenges and especially with regard of territorial integrity.
„I believe we will have certain achievements and finally, achieve our goals which will ensure strengthening of our sovereignty, restoration of our territorial integrity, and western integration," Irakli Kobakhidze said adding that it is very important for the three countries to have the support of the international society.
The joint parliamentary assembly is aimed at deepening the cooperation and dialogue between the three countries, as well as strengthening inter-parliamentary relations and the discussion of issues that are of trilateral interest.
Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze stated today that Russian propaganda is "alarming and certain measures are needed to prevent such risks.”
NATO and EU do not simply mean a better economy and increased security, but first and foremost are part of the values that Georgia is developed on, speaker of the Georgian parliament Irakli Kobakhidze said at an event held yesterday on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Georgia-NATO Inter-Parliamentary Council in Batumi.
The Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze believes that Russia’s revanchist foreign policy is the major challenge to regional security."Russia’s actions in the region, especially in the last decade, have triggered a powerful earthquake that has seriously shaken the credibility of the international system and threatened the very foundations of the European security architecture."
A double taxation avoidance deal signed between Georgia and Moldova in November 2017 is coming into play today.
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Olexandr Saienko considered the possibility of travel for the citizens of the two states between Ukraine and Georgia on internal passports.
Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip has once again reformed his country’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while meeting with his Georgian colleague Mamuka Bakhtadze in Chisinau yesterday.
