Taxi drivers without permit to be fined in Georgia

Individuals providing taxi services that are not registered will be fined 200 GEL (about 81.47/€69.67*) from November 1, 2018, announced the Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Maia Bitadze.

The Parliament of Georgia has adopted the draft law with three hearings. In several days we will start active work on two acts that should be issued by the Tbilisi City Council”, said Bitadze.
From the end of August to November the registration will be started and from November 1 all those people who provide taxi service and are not registered will be punished with a fine of 200 GEL envisaged by the Code of Administrative Offenses”, she added.

At this stage only an identity card is required to get a license for providing taxi service.

The cost of the registration will be 50 GEL (about $20.37/€17.42*).
