Do you love cycling and want to explore Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi while riding your bike?

Soon Tbilisi will have two brand new cycling routes both in its central part and outskirts.

One 8-kilometer circular route will start and end at Dedaena Park in one of the central districts covering both banks of the river Mtkvari, while another 1.2-kilometer route will run along King Mirian Street on the outskirts of Tbilisi.

Tbilisi City Hall will carry out the project in cooperation with the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.

Representatives of City Hall’s Transport Department said the construction works for the cycling routes is now underway and will include relevant infrastructure for ensuring safety while riding in the streets. The cycling routes will be equipped with the green lights and parking lots for bicycles.

The project does not have a separate budget but those responsible for implementation say it will have modest expenses as the construction works will be covered within several different projects of the City Hall.
