The Tbilisi Mayor’s Office has announced that a new, 8km bicycle track will open in central Tbilisi in the coming days.

The track will start from Deda Ena garden (‘Mother Tongue’ garden), will lead to the right bank of the Mtkvari River, and through the Vakhushti Bridge will cross to the left bank of the river.

The track will connect Deda Ena Garden to Rike Park.

Two traffic lights have already been installed for those using the track, one at the Restaurant Tavaduri and another at Saarbrucken Square.

Four parking areas have also been allocated for bicycles: in Deda Ena Garden, at Mshrali Khidi (Dry Bridge), in Rike park, and at Saarbrucken Square.

Only the marking of the track remains to be completed, the Mayor’s Office stated.
