All properties that Georgia owns abroad will soon be registered on one database which will be accessible to anyone.

Georgia’s National Agency of Public Registry and National Agency of State Property announced today the beginning of work to develop an online database containing information about real estate the Georgian state holds outside of the country.

The registry will be managed by the National Agency of Public Registry and will be updated regularly.

The registry will contain information such as the address, square footage and function of the property. All information will be available to the public.

The database will register the buildings of Georgia’s diplomatic representations overseas as well as the Leuville Estate in France that was handed to Georgia last year.

Authorities believe the new initiative will make it easier for state agencies and citizens to receive any kind of information about Georgia’s state property abroad when needed.

Until now there was no systematised registry for Georgia’s property abroad, making it difficult to gather information even for state agencies.
