Georgia defeats Russia in Rugby Europe Championship match

Georgia’s national rugby team has won four matches in a row at the 2017 Europe Championship.

The Georgian ‘Lelos’ handed a defeat to Russia 28 to 14 in front of a home crowd at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi in its fourth Rugby Europe Championship match yesterday evening.

Georgia is currently leading the tournament.

Georgia has taken on Russia 20 times in the history of rugby. Of these, Georgia has won 18 times, losing and tying once. 

In their first, second and third games of the 2017 Europe Championship, the Lelos defeated Belgium, Germany and Spain respectively. 

Looking ahead, Georgia will hold its fifth and final match against Romania on March 19.
