Georgia defeats Spain in Rugby Europe Championship match

Georgia’s national rugby team has won three matches in a row at the the 2017 Europe Championship.

 The Georgian ‘Lelos’ handed a defeat to Spain 20 to 10 in the Spanish town of Medina del Campo in its third Rugby Europe Championship match yesterday evening.

 The first half ended with a Spanish lead, but the Lelos outstripped them in the second half.

 Georgia has now defeated Spain five times in a row.

In yesterday’s game, Lelos Head Coach Milton Haig let young players take the opportunity to play in the national team for the first time. Two Georgians, Ioseb Matiashvili and Badri liparteliani debuted in the match.

Currently Georgia is leading the tournament.

In their first and second games of the 2017 Europe Championship, the Lelos defeated Belgium and Germany respectively.

Looking ahead, Georgia will hold its fourth match against Russia on March 12.
