Hundreds of thousands of people gathered on Road Revolution Square in central Tbilisi late on December 31 to say goodbye to 2016 and meet New Year 2017.
Despite the winter freeze people gathered in Tbilisi to become parts of special festive events dedicated to the New Year celebration, where emotions and mood were high.

The gathered public gained big pleasure from the concert on a special stage arranged in the heart of the capital city.

Counting last seconds of 2015 the air was filled with Georgian folk song "Mravaljamieri” [Long live].

It has been already several years on when significant part of Georgians preferred to meet the New Year out of their homes.
As a rule, local Government contributes much to make the night and the whole New Year and Christmas period special for Georgians and the country’s foreign guests.

Together with the exiting performance people had opportunities to walk in the city decorated and brightened for the particular period and feel the air of holidays.
Public transport was free on the New Year’s Eve in Tbilisi so that people attending the outdoor celebrations could later get home easily.
