The President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan is paying an official visit to Georgia.
Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili hosted Sargsyan at an official welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace today, which has been followed by a meeting between the two Presidents.

Welcoming the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Georgia and Armenia, the two presidents mainly focused on trade and economic issues.
Although we have signed the Association Agreement with the European Union and free trade with Europe, while Armenia is the member of Customs Union, this has not weakened economic cooperation between our countries”, Margvelashvili said.
Freight turnover between Georgia and Armenia has increased with 24 percent this year and tourism with – 18.5 percent.

Stressing that Armenia is doing its best to receive documents that do not damage the interests of Georgia, Sargsyan said "we should be balanced in making decisions on the issues that are sensitive to us”.
We are sure that conflict can be solved through peaceful way”, he said.
President Sargsyan visited Georgia today. Within his visit he will also meet with the Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Parliamentary Chairperson Irakli Kobakhidze and Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II.
Sargsyan will further lay a wreath to the national memorial of the heroes who have fallen for Georgia’s unity and independence.
