Wine professionals from the Netherlands have just completed their visit to Georgia and positively assessed their fascinating journey along the country’s wine routes.
Wine importers, wine writers and sommeliers visited Georgia this month to learn more about the country’s rich wine history and culture. The guests visited wine companies in the country’s capital of Tbilisi and the wine regions of Kakheti and Kvemo Kartli.
They said Georgian wine has great potential to increase export to the Dutch market.
I think Georgian wine has a great future. Georgians should continue winemaking. Here there are different style wines and big and small wine producing companies,” said the sommelier Niels Van Overmeire.

In order to raise the awareness of Georgian wine in the Netherlands, this year the Georgian National Wine Agency signed an agreement with wine importer company Saperavi Wine Agency, which supports Georgian wine exports to the Netherlands and different activities that promote Georgian wine to the country.
Saperavi Wine Agency has already organised a large scale Georgian wine tasting in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam this past July.
The decision of visiting Dutch wine professionals to Georgia was made in Amsterdam after this wine testing event.
