Acclaimed American guitarist Raul Midon and Israeli multi-instrumentalist Adam Ben Ezra will headline the first edition of the Jazz and Wine Kakheti festival, launching in the eastern Georgian province next month.

Bringing jazz enthusiasts to the surroundings of Lake Lopota in the province known for rich winemaking traditions, organisers from Eastern Promotions and TBC Status will host the event from October 6-7.

The celebration of jazz music and wine will be headlined by Raul Midon, New Mexico-born singer and songwriter who has been praised for his guitar performances by The New York Times as "a one-man band who turns a guitar into an orchestra and his voice into a chorus".

An "eclectic adventurist" according to the People magazine, Midon has released albums and offered live shows since 1993 while also featured on famed pianist Herbie Hancock's 2006 album Possibilities.

The roster of artists for the maiden edition of the festival will also include self-taught multi-instrumentalist Adam Ben Ezra, who has become known for his double bass performances and gained large online following.

Ben Ezra's musical career took off in 2008 with a rendition of Michael Jackson'si hit single Billie Jean, which became a viral success. Since then he has performed in the United States and Europe, showcasing his multi-instrumental talent with instruments including piano, bass guitar and clarinet.

A trio led by Swedish artist Jacob Karlzon will entertain festival visitors with performing talents that have earned the composer comparisons with jazz legends Keith Jarrett and Bill Evans.

The stage on Lake Lopota will also host a remarkable mix of popular Italian song performances with a live cooking session, a signature show of the Spaghetti Swing band.

Offering swing genre performances with varied dishes prepared on the spot, the group will entertain the audience "with the humour and passion characteristic of the 50s Italian jazz".

The gastronomic delights featured in their show will be reinforced by organisers' plans for involving participants in rtveli grape harvesting tradition as well as vodka distilling sessions.

A press conference for the festival launch also revealed the hosts' objective on making the festival a country-wide event, taking advantage of cultural specifics of different Georgian provinces in its future editions.
