Georgian, Armenian Foreign Minister meet in Yerevan

Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze met with the Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandyan during his working visit to neighbouring Armenia today.

Janelidze thanked Nalbandyan for the support Armenia had shown Georgia during the forest fire in Georgia’s Borjomi Gorge this summer. Armenia was among the several countries who sent firemen and fire engines to help.

The parties also discussed issues of bilateral and regional cooperation, especially in trade and economy, transport, energy, tourism, culture and other directions.

  • In June, the Georgian-Armenian Business Forum was held in Yerevan, and hosted more than 150 businessmen and high-ranking officials from both countries.
  • In July, Armenia was among the top five countries which imported the largest number of Georgian peaches.
  • In August of 2017 Armenia was the country from where the highest number of visitors came to Georgia.
