Heavy rains cause land-blocks on road linking Georgia and Russia

The Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi Road is open for all vehicles from 5:30am to 8pm.

Large piles of stones and mud have blocked the section of Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road, connecting Georgia with Russia.

The 54th km section of the road is located near the village Gvrito, in the eastern mountainous part of Georgia.

About 150cubic meter of stones and lands slid down onto the road. 

The road is being intensively cleaned and one way traffic has already been restored.

Patrol police is at the scene, regulating the non-stop moving of cars.
