Georgia hosted 552,958 international travellers in May 2017, which was 5.7 percent increase compared to the same month of 2016, show data from the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA).
Meanwhile, 245,403 tourists* spent time in the country, making for a 19.6 percent year-over-year (y/y) increase.
Meanwhile, during the first five months of 2017 Georgia hosted 2,329,677 international travellers (9.7 percent increase), including 981,668 tourists (25 percent increase).
The highest number of visitors who came to Georgia in January-May 2017 were from Iran (224 percent increase), Russia (22.1 percent increase), Turkey (17.8 percent decrease), Armenia (13.2 percent increase), and Azerbaijan (5.6 percent increase).
