World leaders congratulate Georgia’s Prime Minister on taking the post

The new Georgian PM received letters of congratulations from his Chinese, Hungarian, Czech, and Ukrainian counterparts, also acting Prime Minister of Moldova and French and German Foreign Ministers.

International leaders have congratulated Giorgi Kvirikashvili on becoming Prime Minister of Georgia.

The new Georgian PM received letters of congratulations from his Chinese, Hungarian, Czech, and Ukrainian counterparts, also acting Prime Minister of Moldova and French and German Foreign Ministers.

The French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development Laurent Fabius recalled his latest meeting with Kvirikashvili when the latter first visited Paris as Georgia’s Foreign Minister.

"The quality of that meeting and your constructive approach to international relations has confirmed the existence privileged relations between our countries,” Fabius wrote in his letter.
"I assure you France will support the priorities presented by you at the Parliament of Georgia that aimed at strengthening of democracy in Georgia, modernisation on the economy and social progress.”

In his letter of congratulations, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier praised Kvirikashvili’s "pragmatic realism” and invited the new Georgian PM to Berlin.

Meanwhile the Chinese Primer Li Keqiang stressed the importance of strengthening Georgia-China relations and expressed his readiness to collaborate with PM Kvirikashvili.

All of the other leaders also confirmed their countries’ firm support to Georgia and expressed their will to further intensify economic and political relations with Georgia.

Kvirikashvili, who previously served as Georgia's Economy Minister then Foreign Minister, was confirmed by Georgia's Parliament as the country's new Prime Minister on December 30, 2015.
