President of the United States (US) Barack Obama has congratulated Giorgi Kvirikashvili on his confirmation as Georgia’s Prime Minister.
Obama also invited Kvirikashvili to the upcoming Nuclear Security Summit in the US.
The US President sent the Georgian PM a letter of congratulations where Obama said: "Georgia remains a valued partner in promoting our top global priorities, serving with valour in Afghanistan and contributing to European energy security.”
"In the 20 years since independence, Georgia has made great strides toward Euro-Atlantic integration. I assure you that the United States will continue to support this trajectory.”
Obama said Kvirikashvili’s leadership would be "critical” in implementing the reforms necessary to consolidate Georgian democracy, promote economic prosperity and advance Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
"I look forward to working with you to strengthen the partnership between our two countries,” Obama’s letter read.
"I hope you can join me at the Nuclear Security Summit this year as we continue our joint efforts to promote regional stability and security.”
