A South Korean business delegation is visiting Georgia to investigate ways to deepen bilateral economic relations.

A special delegation named ‘Kotra’ has come to Georgia for three days to attend business meetings with local organisations.

The foreign delegation included envoys from nine representative companies and was being led by Kim Hamid, deputy director of the Korean Embassy’s Commercial Department. The delegation’s visit began yesterday, November 30, and will end on December 2.

The nine Korean companies specialised in the production of building materials, heating, dental implants, auto parts and cosmetics. The interests of the Korean businesses also included pharmaceuticals and waste recycling.

Kotra is a state-funded trade and investment promotion organisation operated by the Government of South Korea.

Today, December 1, the foreign guests will attend a Georgia-Korea business-to-business (B2B) meeting at Marriott Hotel in central Tbilisi.

The B2B meeting aimed to support the development of bilateral economic relations, and over the course of the day representatives from about 20 Korean business sectors meet and network with representatives from Georgian companies. In total the B2B meeting will be attended by 70 companies.

The business forum will feature presentations from the local Chamber of Commerce and Investment Agency members, who will speak about their organisations’ activities.

The Korean Embassy in Tbilisi supported the Kotra delegation visit. The Embassy provided vital support and information to Korean companies operating in Georgia, and it also shared information to Georgian companies if they were interested in doing business in Korea with their Korean partners.
