Companies of the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) have expressed interest in importing Georgian products to the Republic of Korea, announced the Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Genadi Arveladze at the Korea-Georgia Business Forum held in Tbilisi today.
The forum was organised by Enterprise Georgia and Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Korea.
Georgian exports to South Korea was $4,988,700 in January-August 2019, which is 0.21 per cent of total exports.
Georgian imports from South Korea was $35,495,600 in January-August 2019, which is 0.62 per cent of total exports.
Georgia’s investment opportunities and business environment were discussed at the meeting. The main reason for the visit of the Korean delegation was to strengthen trade relations and establish new business contacts between Georgia and South Korea.
Korean companies represented at the forum are interested in importing Georgian products such as wines, soft drinks, nuts, juices and vegetables”, said Arveladze.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between Enterprise Georgia and KOIMA at the forum.
