PM: “Pre-election campaigning underway without any incidents”

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili says pre-election campaigning in Georgia for the October 8 Parliamentary Elections is in full swing and is being carried out in a calm environment by all political players. 

The pre-election campaigning launched a month ago and we haven’t faced any negative incidents or complications. I hope political parties will put aside their emotions and private interests and we will hold high level elections,” said Kvirikashvili at today's Governmental meeting. 

The PM stressed today the first Inter-Agency Commission meeting would take place, where election issues would be discussed by representatives of different state bodies, members of political parties and interested observing organisaions, both local and foreign. 

Kvirikashvili said holding the Commission meetings under the guidance of with Georgia’s Minister of Justice Thea Tsulukiani would play an "important role” the election process and ensure it is comfortable for all players. 

Pre-election campaigning in Georgia officially launched on June 8.
