In the beginning of July Georgia will transform into a political hub as 700 guests from 57 member states of the world’s largest security organisation come to Tbilisi to discuss regional and global security, migration and human rights issues.
The annual Parliamentary Assembly session of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA), titled 25 Years of Parliamentary Cooperation: Building Trust Through Dialogue, will take place from July 1-5 at Expo Georgia in capital Tbilisi.
This is the first time Georgia will host the OSCE PA, and [the event] will significantly enhance the authority and capacities of the country on a political map,” said Parliament of Georgia today.
The Parliamentary forum will allow Georgia to advance issues that are important for us with global players,” Parliament of Georgia added.

OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, a United States Congress delegation, parliament speakers and vice speakers, members of parliaments and other guests were scheduled to discuss security issues in the OSCE area, economic cooperation, the current challenges in the human rights sphere and global migration problems.
The event was special as this year the OSCE PA celebrated its 25th anniversary. This year Georgia also marked its 25th anniversary of independence from the Soviet Union.
