Quincy Jones, Lauryn Hill, Chris Brown among headliners for 2016 Black Sea Jazz Festival

The annual Black Sea Jazz Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary this summer by bringing some of the most well-known names in the world music scene to Georgia's seaside city Batumi.

The Festival, scheduled to run from July 15-24, will present seven headlining performances at the Batumi Tennis Club venue.

The festival's line-up of top jazz bands and artists includes eight-time Grammy Award-winning American vocalist Lauryn Hill as well as legendary music producer and all-time most nominated Grammy artist Quincy Jones.

Other famous performers coming to the seaside city include award-winning American singers Macy Gray and Chris Brown.

The full schedule of headlining performances at the festival is:

  • July 15: Quincy Jones & the Global Gumbo All-Stars
  • July 16: Miles Electric Band
  • July 17: Lauryn Hill
  • July 21: The Prodigy
  • July 22: Jamie Cullum
  • July 23: Chris Brown
  • July 24: Macy Gray

In addition, the event will also include concerts by young bassist and singer Nik West and Georgian musicians at the local Take Five club, bringing the duration of the festival up to 10 days of performances.

Tickets for the seven headline artists will go on sale via the official festival website starting May 11.

Founded in 2007, the Black Sea Jazz Festival has since grown to become the largest annual jazz event on the Black Sea coast.

Over the years the Festival has attracted leading jazz names including American pianist Chick Correa, funk music icon George Clinton and more.
