Those who suffered from car damage as a result of devastating Tbilisi Flood on June 13, will be fully compensated by the Georgian Government.
About 101 individuals will receive compensation in 2016.
The decision was made during the meeting at Tbilisi Sakrebulo yesterday.
Those individuals whose cars were valued at $5,000 USD equivalent in GEL and were destroyed during the flood will be compensated by 100 percent. But those, whose cars cost less than $5,000 USD equivalent in GEL will be compensated by 70 percent,” explained head of Tbilisi Property Management Agency Karlo Laperadze.
Meanwhile, according to the data provided by Ministry of Internal Affairs, in total 157 cars were damaged during the Tbilisi flood, of which 110 cars belonged to the individuals and 47 cars – to the different organisations.
Only eight cars were insured out of 157 cars.
Meanwhile, bank in June a Georgian insurance company GPI Holding also promised to fully compensate every one of its clients who were victims of the devastating Tbilisi flood, which damaged properties, personal belongings and affected the health of many.
More than 100 calls have been made to GPI Holding by clients reporting their loss. GPI Holding said most claims related to property, health or car damage, and estimated the loss exceeded 500,000 GEL.
The insurance firm, a member of Vienna Insurance Group, announced it would compensate 100 percent of the costs facing their insured clients.
