Famous Georgian opera singer Nino Machaidze will entertain a Tbilisi audience with fragments from some of the best known operas at the concert this evening in Georgia’s capital.
Later this evening Machaidze will take centre stage at the Tbilisi Concert Hall alongside fellow opera stars, conductor Nikoloz Rachveli and the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra.
Machaidze, the headline singer, will perform songs and scenes from famous productions including La Traviata, Rigoletto and Carmen.
Called "one of the most brilliant artists of today’s young generation of singers" by her United States-based company LA Opera, Machaidze be partnered by three Georgian performers from other European theatres.
Young tenor Otar Jorjikia, who partnered with Machaidze at the Strasbourg Convention Centre opera gala in September, would also feature in the evening's program.

Meanwhile Georgian baritone Gocha Abuladze will represent Germany's Magdeburg Theatre and baritone Mikheil Kiria will be a performer of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where Machaidze also sings.
Conductor Nikoloz Rachveli announced the evening would feature a video clip of tributes to Machaidze by fashion designer Giorgio Armani, Government officials and opera critics.
The Georgian soprano received her vocal training in Tbilisi and performed at the city’s Opera and Ballet State Theatre for five years until 2005 when she joined the academy of the famous La Scala opera in Milan, Italy.
Machaidze achieved her international breakthrough with a performance in Romeo and Juliet at the 2008 Salzburg Festival alongside Mexican tenor Rolando Villazón.
She has since performed at the most prestigious worldwide opera stages including the Vienna State Opera, the Staatsoper Berlin, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the Metropolitan Opera New York.
