South Korea is increasing its financial assistance to Georgia.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency gifted Georgia’s Foreign Ministry computer equipment worth $100,000 USD (slightly less than 240,000 GEL).
The financial assistance was part of the Korean grant allocated for Georgia for the years 2013 to 2015.
A Korean delegation, consisting of Korea’s newly appointed Ambassador to Georgia Kim Chang-gyu, head of the Korea International Cooperation Agency Choi Yonjae and Tbilisi Office charge d'affaires of the Korean Embassy Kim In-hwan, visited Georgia’s Foreign Ministry today.
The Korean officials were hosted by Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalaghania and the sides discussed intensifying bilateral relations.
Currently the Georgian side has three projects submitted to Korea's Official Development Assistance (ODA); one was about agriculture and the other two were about health and environment protection. The Korean side will decide whether or not the projects will be given grants in 2017.
The Korea International Cooperation Agency is a governmental organisation for ODA to enhance the effectiveness of South Korea's grant aid programs for developing countries by implementing the government's grant aid and technical cooperation programs.
