Come to Batumi and be part of the seaside city’s first summer campaign where there is fun going down all day, every day.

This is the call going out to local and international tourists this summer who want to be part of a unique summer project in Georgia’s Black Sea coastal city of Batumi.

Heat Batumi is the name of the special summer campaign that will oversee more than 200 activities, festivals and entertainment in the next two months held in the coastal resort town. The slogan of the campaign reads: "There is fun going down all day round, everyday” and everyone is invited to attend.

The local Government will spend 3.4 million GEL on the project however a portion of the summer campaign is being sponsored by private donors.

"As a result we will make every tourist remember that every day spent in Batumi is interesting,” said Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili while presenting the project.
"We encourage you to come and spend this season in Batumi.”

The 11-week Heat Batumi festival kicked off on July 6 and will continue until September 15, 2015, during which 200 events hosting 259 foreign artists from about 20 countries will take part. With up to 2000 participants overall, Heat Batumi will be split into 11 thematic weeks, with each having a unique topic and artistic accent.

See the project calendar here.

The first week of the project was dedicated to traditional Georgian culture and it will be followed by a week of contemporary singers and artists. A jazz music week, an alternative music week, a classical music festival and many more would also be part of the summer campaign.

Specifically, RnB legend, multi-platinum artist and entertainer Snoop Dogg, soul-pop diva Lisa Stansfield, RnB/soul singer Liv Warfield and funk music icon George Clinton will make their musical debut at this year’s Black Sea Jazz Festival in Batumi.
